Agreement to Terms

By scheduling an appointment or using the services of Pacific Coast Signing ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

Services Provided

Pacific Coast Signing provides mobile notary public services in accordance with California state law. Our services include, but are not limited to:

  • Acknowledgments
  • Jurats (verification upon oath or affirmation)
  • Certified copies of powers of attorney
  • Loan document signings
  • Real estate document notarization
  • Medical and legal document notarization
  • Business document notarization

Notary Limitations

Please understand that as a notary public, we:

  • Cannot provide legal advice or explain the contents of documents
  • Cannot prepare legal documents for you
  • Cannot notarize incomplete documents or documents with blank spaces to be filled in later
  • Cannot notarize documents if the signer is not physically present
  • Cannot notarize documents if the signer cannot be properly identified
  • Cannot notarize documents if the signer appears to be coerced, confused, or lacks mental capacity
  • Must refuse notarization if we have reason to believe fraud is involved

Identification Requirements

California law requires notaries to positively identify all signers. Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • Valid state-issued driver's license or ID card
  • Valid U.S. passport or passport card
  • Valid foreign passport
  • Valid U.S. military ID
  • Valid inmate identification card issued by CDCR

All identification must be current (not expired) and contain a photograph, physical description, and signature. We reserve the right to refuse service if proper identification cannot be provided.

Scheduling and Appointments

  • Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis
  • We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your preferred time and location
  • Travel fees may apply based on distance from our service area
  • Please have all documents ready and all signers present at the scheduled time

Cancellation Policy

We understand that circumstances change. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • 24+ hours notice: No cancellation fee
  • Less than 24 hours notice: A cancellation fee may apply
  • No-show: Full service fee may be charged

If we are unable to complete the notarization due to improper identification, incomplete documents, or other issues on the client's part, fees may still apply.

Fees and Payment

Our fees are in accordance with California state maximum fee regulations for notary services. Additional fees may include:

  • Travel fees based on distance
  • After-hours or weekend service fees
  • Rush service fees
  • Waiting time fees (if applicable)

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, and major credit cards.

Limitation of Liability

Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the notary services provided. We are not responsible for:

  • The content, accuracy, or legality of documents presented for notarization
  • Any consequences arising from the documents being notarized
  • Delays or inability to provide services due to circumstances beyond our control
  • Any damages arising from the use or inability to use our services

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pacific Coast Signing from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of our services, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

Errors and Omissions Insurance

We maintain Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance and are bonded as required by California law. This provides protection in the event of unintentional errors in performing notarial acts.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
